Aurora’s cover of Oasis’ “Half the World Away” (Decca) opens at No. 6 within the mid-week chart, on account of its prominent placement in retailer John Lewis’ tear-jerking Christmas TV an internet-based promotion. Meanwhile, Coldplay’s new single “Adventure of any Lifetime” (Parlophone) is poised to produce a solid debut. The song, the 1st lifted on the band’s forthcoming album release A Head Full of Dreams (due out Dec. 4), opens at No. 8 for the mid-week tally.

On the albums survey, meanwhile, Little Mix was in pole position to get the new No. 1 using the pop group’s third set Get Weird (Syco). Though the four-piece won’t be celebrating yet. Their album is only 566 chart sales in front of Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream (RCA/Legacy Recordings) around the Official Albums Chart Update.

If I Can Dream, a group of Elvis standards reworked because of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a week ago became The King’s 12th U.K. No. 1 album, a list for a male solo artist. The late rocker’s chart feat places him level with Madonna in second spot for most No. 1s. The Beatles will be the outright leaders with 15.

The U.K.’s singles and albums charts are compiled with the OCC, according to sales of downloads, CDs, vinyl and audio streams. The new charts are published late Friday local time.
